State of the Art Training with the FTI

AGI contractors are respected far and wide for their knowledge and expertise with architects, engineers and contractors in the design and fabrication of architectural glass and metal products.

This excellence is no accident. One of the critical success factors behind the organization is our nationally recognized Finishing Trades Institute.

The FTI was created to focus exclusively on training the AGI member's workforce, in an ever-changing and technologically advancing industry. The FTI has become "the" respected authority on the complexities of the architectural glazing and metal industry.

Consider the facts:

The FTI has standards of apprenticeship registered with the US Department of Labor and is also accredited by the United States Department of Education (DOE), meaning it meets the stringent standards of administrative control, financial responsibility and academic rigor set forth by the US DOE. The FTI was the first stand-alone building trades training program to receive full accreditation from the Department of Education opening the way for graduates to receive college degrees, financial aid, and ultimately raising apprenticeship training to a new level.

With two state of the art training facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, the crown jewel being its 80,000 sq. ft. Main Campus in Northeast Philadelphia, the FTI provides educational opportunities to a workforce throughout 47 counties in four states.

The Main Campus Glaziers Shop is used for metal fabrication, glass cutting, architectural metal installation, water and wind testing, welding, and much more. With mock-up areas for caulking, aluminum, glass, shower doors, mirrors, interior office partitions, hand rails, as well as slope glazed and sky-lite systems, this shop offers the best atmosphere for craftworkers to hone their skills.
