In Spring 2022, the North American Contractor Certification (NACC) Program marked a milestone with certification of its 50thcontractor. NACC is an ANSI-accredited, award-winning credential that recognizes architectural glass and metal subcontractors who adopt standard best practices not only for glazing quality and construction safety but also for business operations.
The 50th contractor certification calls for celebration across the design and construction industry. NACC was conceived in 2014 with its first group of glazing subcontractors certified in July 2015. Since that time, industry support has seen the program grow to include contractors certified in 18 states and Canada, recognition by the International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI) for mitigating construction risk, MasterSpec® introducing specification language referencing NACC as part of Quality Assurance language for Division 8 (Openings), and over 1,300 appearances of NACC in specifications to date.
United Glass and Panels Systems, Inc. (UGPS), a leading glazing subcontractor headquartered in North Canton, became the first in Ohio and the 50th overall to earn NACC. D&A Glass Company, Inc. (D&A), the contract glazing division of D&A Companies of Boise, became the first in Idaho and 51st overall shortly after.
AGI members represent one of the largest concentrations of certified glazing contractors in North America. Eight local glazing contractors have earned NACC, including Beletz Brothers Glass Co., Inc., Eureka Metal & Glass Services, Inc., Graboyes Commercial Window and Glass Solutions, Guthrie Glass & Metal, Inc., National Glass & Metal Company, Inc., Paul Rabinowitz Glass Co., Inc., R.A. Kennedy & Sons, Synergy Glass & Door Service, LLC.
