On February 18, the Drexel Construction Management Program hosted nearly 200 attendees for a video premiere of “Quest for Quality,” a documentary addressing the challenge of how to achieve construction quality, with emphasis on North American Contractor Certification (NACC) and the Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) programs. With the glass industry rising in importance to the architectural designs of the 21st century, a segment of the industry has determined how to attain the highest levels of quality while navigating the challenges of schedule, cost, and safety.
According to L.F. Driscoll Company Director of Engineering Walt Cichonski, “L.F. Driscoll recognizes the importance of a formal quality program. We are instituting a requirement to review the quality program from every contractor on all contracts we are awarding. The NACC program’s quality management system requirement directly applies to that requirement and provides a level of confidence.”
Brigham and Women’s Hospital Senior Vice President of Real Estate, Facilities, and Operations Doug Carney added, “As an institutional owner, the value proposition of industry certifications like NACC and AGMT is critical to avoid failures. Knowing the last person to touch the tools has the most impact on whether the system is going to perform or not. These certifications help reduce that risk.”
